Kelly Edwards is a British Judoka. After discovering her passion and talent for the sport at a very young age, she has gone on to represent Great Britain in the European and World Championships.
In June 2012, whilst living and training in Dartford, Kent, Kelly was selected to represent her country in the London 2012 Olympics in the under 48kg category, a great honour and a career highlight.
The following year, she relocated to Edinburgh to progress with her training alongside studying a BSc Psychology Degree. In 2014, went on to represent England at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games winning a Silver Medal in the under 52kg category.
After a serious concussion injury in 2016, Kelly’s Rio Olympic qualification was brought to a halt. However, after some time in recovery, she returned to the sport to win bronze at both the Croatia Grand Prix and Abu Dhabi Grand Slam.
As an ambassador for the Women’s Sport Trust, Kelly aims to increase the visibility and impact of women in sport. She also enjoys yoga and spending time with her family and cat.
