Sam Lavery has joined Capital North East as the stations brand new host of Weekday Drive Monday to Friday 4pm to 7pm.
Sam shot to fame after her stunning appearance on the X Factor in 2016. Simon Cowell picked Sam as his projected winner and as a result she reached the finals of the award winning show.
This led to her first UK and Ireland arena tour with the X factor in 2017, performing her unique set, including arrangements of Michael Jacksons classic, ‘Earth Song; & Bonnie Tyler’s, ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’.
Since then Sam undertook a nationwide theatre tour with M People’s Heather Small all over UK and Ireland , performing every night to sold out audiences, followed closely by supporting Keith Duffy and Brian Macfadden on their Boyzlife theatre tour whilst constantly in the studio working on her own music ,
Throughout 2019 Sam toured Nationwide in UK and Ireland as the lead female in Green Days Tony award winning musical ‘American Idiot’ produced by Selladoor.
Following the hugely successful UK tour ‘American Idiot’ finished with a further run of dates in New Zealand.
When the world ground to a halt with the Covid pandemic, Sam spent her time split between her home recording studio where she was writing and recording and starting her steps learning the ropes at the radio station.
After lots of in house radio station training, Sam was given her own D J presenting slot on Capital FM as holiday cover where she presented her own show and worked closely alongside Global which has always been a major interest to her.
Always into her fitness Sam is a total adrenaline lover! Takes great enjoyment with extreme sports like Paragliding, Gliding and Scuba Diving in Caves….when time permits.
Now with joining Capital North East with the daily drive time show 2022 looks to be a busy year ahead!!
